Club Notes – 23rd May 2017

Several competitions took place over this past week at Strabane with 175 cards being taken out for Saturday’s stableford event sponsored by J.A.Gamble & Co Ltd. The best of the day was set in the early morning by Sammy Devenney (20) with an excellent 42pts which was equaled but not bettered for the remainder of the day, Sammy winning on break of tie with a brilliant 23pts on the inward nine 13 of which he scored on the final four holes! The unlucky runner up was John Duddy (16) another player to hit some great form off late, John may well look back on two front nine blank holes on his card over the front nine that cost him the win. Third went to John McCallion (17) with 39pts, with Dan Downey (15) featuring in the prizes again in fourth, also with 39pts, the final nett prize went to Stephen Donaghey (11) with 38pts.  The gross was picked up by Cathal Patton with 34 gross pts and the over 60’s prize to Liam McGinley (20) with 38pts, Johnny McCrea (24) took the first nine prize with 21pts with John White (26) winning the best back nine with 24pts.
