Captain’s Charity raises £1350 for C-R-Y

This year the Captain’s choosen charity is Cardiac Risk in the Young (C-R-Y.)

Each week across Northern Ireland and the UK twelve people 35 and under years of age die from undiagnosed heart conditions. The figure represents a  50% increase on previous estimates. That is the stark message from Cardiac Risk in the Young.

The Captain, Seamus Friel,  said that he was delighted by the way way members of the club donated to this worthy cause, as well as money raised on Captain’s Day there was also a draw for a hamper which was kindly donated by Marks & Spencers, Omagh.  The winner of the hamper was Seamus McPhilemy.

Louise McShane, pictured below, said that she was delighted that the Captain choose
C-R-Y as his charity and was overwhelmed by the generosity of the members of Strabane Golf Club.
